NACE (Nomenclature of Economic Activities) is a European classification system used to categorise business activities for statistical, regulatory, and investment purposes. It helps identify the sector or industry in which a company or trust operates, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing clarity on its economic activities.
During the Lemonway onboarding process, you will be asked to provide the NACE code for your company or trust.
For private investment entities, the relevant codes usually fall under Section K: Financial and Insurance Activities:
- 64.99 - Other financial service activities, except insurance and pension funding n.e.c. Used for general private investment companies that manage investments but don't offer services to the public.
- 64.30 - Trusts, funds, and similar financial entities. Ideal for companies operating as holding or pooled investment structures (e.g., SPVs or family trusts).
- 64.20 - Activities of holding companies. For companies that primarily hold shares or equity in other companies, often in passive investment structures.
